We start the week with some sad news from Sweden. Saab is now likely going into bankruptcy and it could be that the nine lives have finally run out, asset liquidation coming up next. I say 'could' because we have seen Houdini-esque escapes from Saab before and the saga has gone on for a long time. But today does have the feeling of being rather more serious, that the road has finally come to an end. It was perhaps always a long shot that Saab would find a sustainable business model from where it was coming from, but it is - for those of us who respect a brand like that and the people there trying desperately to make it work - just sad that it has now come to this. And for what it's worth, we wish all at Saab and its suppliers well.
