Illinois Governor Names New Insurance Commissioner

Illinois Governor Pat Quinn has named Andrew Boron as director of the Illinois Department of Insurance (DOI). Boron returns to state government after working as vice president and counsel at the ACE Group, where he served as primary liaison to the Departments of Insurance in nine states, including Illinois.

We start the week with some sad news from Sweden. Saab is now likely going into bankruptcy and it could be that the nine lives have finally run out, asset liquidation coming up next. I say 'could' because we have seen Houdini-esque escapes from Saab before and the saga has gone on for a long time.
